Last night when I was ready to sit down and write C was on the iPad looking at dresses. I was getting tired and wasn’t going to interrupt her, so I didn’t post anything.
Overall it was an uneventful Thursday. At dinner time somehow we got on the topic of what C and I would have done if Willie weren’t still here with us. That was something he wanted to talk about when he was sick and I never wanted to think about it for a variety of reasons. Yesterday the idea wasn’t as raw and it was easier to briefly talk about it. I didn’t want to believe he would die and it wasn’t healthy to start planning life without him when he was still here. If we had to cross that bridge we would have, but I am so thankful we haven’t. As we sat eating we all reveled in the fact that we were enjoying it together, out in the summer evening. I would not have imagined us being here right now way back then.
Today was a nice Friday. I didn’t have any work meetings and so was just able to be heads down on a project I have going on. The weather today was odd. It was warm, but dark and overcast. It wasn’t until late afternoon that the storm moved through. It wasn’t particularly long-lived, but there was thunder and lightning.
After work we all went shopping. Tomorrow Willie and I are going on a dinner cruise with some friends to celebrate a birthday and it is a dress-up event. I haven’t worn a nice evening dress in years and Willie didn’t have dress shoes. We went to a few stores and all acquired a few new items. C collected more earrings – I think she almost has enough to wear a different pair each day for a year. That might be a slight exaggeration, but she has quite a few. I found a sun hat in two colors and finally found a dress after trying on a handful. I do not like trying on clothes. Willie was able to pick up a couple pairs of pants and he now has some classy shoes to wear for special events. It was kind of fun going to stores as the three of us – that is not very typical of us to go shoe/clothes shopping all together.
C is now playing games over her friend’s house and it is time for me to go to bed. I like ending the evening with a jotting down of the events of the day, or the last couple of days as has been the case a couple times lately. I don’t want to make a habit of missing days, but now and again it may happen.
I used to get nervous if you skipped a day. Now i am haapy because you are filling your days with your lives.❤️
I got dressed up yesterday and attended the wedding of a young couple I have known since they were C’s age. Also friends with their parents and grandparents. So thankful I was able to go. Blessed in many ways by being there.
I love you 3WGC so very much ❤️🤗🙏🙌✍️❤️
I hope you have a good time on the dinner cruise. Sounds lovely. I am so glad Willie is still around too! I am so glad you did not have to figure out what it would be like without him. I also think it is incredible that you are all together in Rochester by choice and found a place where you can all grow and thrive. Praying the Lord leads us to our next destination as a family.
I find it wonderful that you all were able to go “dress-up” clothes shopping together.
That certainly never happened in my family, it sounds really fun!
