Yesterday’s storm lasted well into the night. We briefly lamented not having the view our apartment did because it had an amazing view of the sky. Our home now is nestled in the neighborhood amongst trees and is not quite facing the right direction for prime storm viewing. Of course that didn’t keep us from hearing the thunder or having flashes of light come in through the curtains.
We did all get to bed quite late and as a result did not get out of bed until way later than I expected. Thankfully today was a Saturday and we had nothing solid scheduled on the calendar except for a youth dance.
Our day consisted of chores – including delivering a very trashy used couch to the trash site, returning the insulation we didn’t end up using for the attic, and having house keys made, finally. C went to town with her friend for a Latin event to get extra credit for Spanish class. The girls hung out into the evening as their planned dance was cancelled due to the weather.
I finished a book – The Scandalous Sisterhood of Prickwillow Place by Julie Berry. It was a cute little mystery that C had picked as one of her potential books to read this school year.
I’m glad tomorrow is Sunday and we have one more day to do our own things.

Happy Sunday! I was wondering-you said Cs race was longer this week. How long was it? Glad you were able to get some needed chores done. Was this trashy couch brought down from Alaska? Just curious. We are settling in to our fall schedule and the new work environment. Gos is so very good.
This race was 3 miles (or a 5k), which is their standard high school race distance. The trashy couch was bought online via an overstock website. Costco accepts anything for returns and the people who had this one had the nerve to use the couch for what appeared to be a long time and then return it and Costco in turn had the nerve to sell it. We knew it was used, but didn’t realize it would be that bad. Lesson learned. I’m glad you are all settling in.
